The 2012 LEAP Test results are in, and West Feliciana Parish students scored big!
Superintendent Hollis Milton said, “I would like to thank all stakeholders for another great year in West Feliciana. We have had a lot of highlights this year, and the results are the icing on the cake.”
Milton contined, “We were the first district in the state on a Kindergarten readiness assessment. We grew in 11 of our 12 areas on the first grade IOWA test and posted all-time highs. Bains Lower will more than likely become our first A school as it will cross the 120 school performance threshold. At Bains, fourth grade proficiency rates in ELA and Math are at an all-time high. Third grade maintained a proficiency rate greater than 90% in ELA for the second consecutive year. WF Middle School demonstrated growth in proficiency rates in eight out of twelve subject areas, with eight grade proficiency levels in ELA and Math soaring to a new record level. WF High School exceeded previous marks in End of Course Tests in three of our areas and, as a result, will make growth in the school performance score. Our district performance score will rise again because of the hard work and dedication to excellence put forth by our teachers, administrators, students, and parents. We also have to thank our community for their unwavering support of all of our efforts. Because of the people of West Feliciana, our public school system works!”
