Each year, teachers that are new to the West Feliciana Parish School System are invited to attend an orientation where they tour all of the districts schools, meet principals, and are introduced to the technology they will be expected to use on a daily basis.  The orientation helps the teachers see the ‘life of a student’ in the West Feliciana Parish School System.

West Feliciana Parish Human Resource Supervisor and the days tour guide Beverly Grant said, “We are so excited to have you as a part of our team.  We truly believe we have the best new teachers available.  Welcome!”

The teachers started with a walking tour of Lower Head Start, then went through Head Start, Bains Lower Elementary, Bains Elementary, West Feliciana Middle, and West Feliciana High School.

Middle school principal Ben Necaise took the teachers for a technology tour.  He introduced them to the district lesson plan program and My Big Campus, among other technology outlets they will be involved with daily.

High school principal Jim Carroll said, “We are going to go through this transition together because we operate like a team, and since you all are now a part of that team, we are all here to help you.  We have to work together for the students.”
