On January 7, Superintendent Hollis Milton and supervisors presented the final version of the district improvement plan to the faculty at each school. While at the schools, Superintendent Milton welcomed back the teachers to a new year and a new semester. He thanked them for their hard work and for their dedication to helping students meet their potential.
“Your hard work inspires me to give my best,” said Superintendent Milton.
At the beginning of the staff meeting, supervisors helped distribute blue wristbands to the employees, which contains the new district purpose statement, “Student Success: Learning today, Leading tomorrow.”
Superintendent Milton explained, “My hope is that many of our employees will wear the wristband as a symbol of pride. We have so much to be proud of as a district. I also hope that the wristband will be a constant reminder that we all are leaders because we model expectations that we would like for our students to emulate. I can’t think of a better time to hand these out as we begin a new year.”
Not only will employees receive these wristbands, but all students will have an opportunity to earn a wristband through each school’s positive behavior intervention support system.
