Feliciana Family and Friends Clinton Mardi Gras Parade announces 2013 royalty
The 8th Annual Clinton Mardi Gras Parade, themed, "Forward Into the Future," will roll at 11 AM, Saturday, February 2nd with two distinguished local activists reigning over the event.
The 8th King will be Dr. Henderson Lewis, Jr., newly chosen Superintendent of East Feliciana Parish Schools. Lewis has a B.S. from Southern University at New Orleans, an M.A. from the University of New Orleans, and a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership from Mississippi State University. Prior to being tapped for the East Feliciana position, he served as a teacher, a curriculum co-ordinator, and a principal in St. Bernard Parish, and he is still a member of the St. Bernard Parish School Board.
The 8th Queen will be Clinton native Ginger Andrews Hunt, RN, BSN, MSN, Family Nurse Practitioner. Hunt is the Founder and CEO of Primary Care Providers or a Healthy Feliciana,Inc., a non-profit network of federally ualified health centers since the first clinic, RKMPrimary Care opened in Spring of 1999. Ms. Hunt received her B.S. in Nursing from Northwestern (LA) State University, her M.S.N. from the University of Southern Mississippi, ant her Nurse Practitioner degree from Mississippi University for Women. She has been a staff nurse, nurse supervisor, administrator, and associate
professor of nursing (Southern University School of Nursing).
